2018 was a huge year for Secure Exchange Solutions! Looking back, we are thrilled with the many new partners that joined us this year as well as the new customers we acquired. We are encouraged to be working with leading healthcare stakeholders such as Genesis Healthcare, Vibra Healthcare, Optum, Humana and more to solve their clinical information exchange needs while improving efficiencies.
Another milestone for SES was the launch of two innovative products, FETCH and SPOT. Both are powered by advanced technologies designed to cost-effectively move our customers toward faster, more accurate clinical decision-making to improve the quality of care for patients. Spot, is unique in that it is driven by artificial intelligence (AI) to evaluate clinical information faster, while controlling costs, improving patient outcomes and reducing manual effort for providers and public or private health plans. The result has been significant savings of time and money.
Other notable achievements of 2018 include:
• Gartner Research Note – We were excited to be referenced by Gartner as a clinical data exchange (CDI) vendor aligned with value-chain process gaps in the Research Note titled: Healthcare Payer CIOs, Leverage Vendor Partners to Succeed at Clinical Data Integration
• Linguamatics Health Partnership – Linguamatics, the leading natural language processing (NLP) text analytics provider, partnered with SES to integrate their NLP platform into the SES SPOT product offering. The solution streamlines clinical information exchange and automates the review process.
• PointClickCare Partnership – The PCC/SES collaboration provides a technology solution that streamlines communications and referrals to better coordinate patient access to post-acute treatment and ultimately improve patient outcomes through increased clinical coordination and physician oversight as patients transition to different centers.
• X12 Launches Claims Attachment Schema Pilot in Collaboration with the Innovation Messaging Group -The schema produced under this pilot is based on, and complimentary to, transactions published as part of X12’s HIPAA EDI Implementation Guides. The goal is to resolve the complexity of routing the fulfillment of the requests for clinical information for prior authorizations and other clinical reporting. Today there is no scalable interoperable method for exchange of combined administrative and clinical data. This is a critical next step to reduce costs for payers and providers
• Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) Annual Meeting – SES leadership remains at the forefront of healthcare standards, and continues to address critical industry issues, such as interoperability and prior authorizations.

Looking ahead to 2019, SES will be working toward solving the prior authorization challenge, elevating industry standards to address pressing industry issues, assessing the impact of blockchain and collaborating with providers to enable greater accuracy in clinical information exchange.
