Rockville, MD— Wayne Memorial Hospital, a non-profit community hospital based in Honesdale, Pennsylvania, has selected Secure Exchange Solutions (SES) a Pennsylvania-certified Health Information Service Provider (HISP) to implement Direct communications.
Wayne Memorial is leveraging the Direct grant, a Commonwealth of Pennsylvania eHealth Collaborative (PAeHC) program enabling providers to receive free Direct communications for one year, to enroll its entire network of community physicians in Direct through SES. Direct enables simple and secure communications between all healthcare providers, improving quality of care by allowing for the immediate exchange of all types of healthcare information.
“Unlike other healthcare communications tools, Direct communications allow hospital providers to communicate with any other healthcare provider, not just those within the hospital network,” said Dan Kazzaz, CEO of SES. “This opens the door to open communications among practitioners, leading to a faster flow of information and, ultimately, better patient care.”
“We chose Secure Exchange Solutions because the company offers the deployment options that work best for our hospital and our community physicians,” said Tom Hoffman, Manager of Information Services for Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Wayne Memorial will launch its Direct program on August 2, 2012.
